About the artist
Hello! I’m Thomas P. Flynn, a photographer* living in southwest Minnesota. My work is largely focused on the areas I inhabit — people, places, events — without any distinct limitation or barrier. I enjoy getting out in the wild as much as exploring small communities and their people.
As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, I’m committed to highlighting queer joy and success in a region where these things don’t receive enough light or celebration. I help with planning regional Pride events where I live, and I find a tremendous amount of satisfaction in working with members of the community at every opportunity I can. Check out my current list of things I want to photograph, and if they feature queer folks in any respect, consider my want amplified x100.
*I’m not just a photographer — I’m a full-time librarian, which means I have a deep personal and professional commitment to the freedom of information, information-seeking behavior, and support for information literacy. Please look forward to one (or a hundred) blog posts about the intersection between these topics and my work as a photographer.
